Yay! Debenhams loves Henry Holland too! According to Drapers Record,
the department store is expected to confirm any minute now that it has
signed the be-quiffed designer to join its elite stable of top fashion
names currently designing the store’s exclusive Designers at Debenhams diffusion lines.
Henry’s label, House of Holland, only burst onto the fashion scene in 2007 with it’s cheeky slogan T-shirts ('Wham Bam, Jessica Stam'), but the ex-fashion editor has already become a savvy operator in the industry, collaborating with numerous brands, from Kickers to Topman, and most recently launching a range of tights for Pretty Polly. It seems everybody loves a bit of Henry. And with fashion friend Agyness Deyn as his long-term BFF and muse, Holland is one of the most high-profile faces on the London party scene.
Debenhams designer diffusions are seen as a Big Deal within
the industry, giving designers both major kudos, as well as (allegedly)
big bucks – Jasper Conran reportedly paid for his Tudor mansion with profits from his J by Jasper Conran range for the department store. Matthew Williamson recently re-signed with the store to launch his Butterfly collection. And it seems Henry is set to follow. Go, Henry |

Kate Moss’s new reality TV role! |
|
|
|
|
Whilst the is-she-isn’t-she going on the X Factor rumours rumble on, Kate Moss has forged ahead with her plans to grace the small screen – and scored a role on her best mate’s reality TV show. Documentary makers have been trailing James Brown for months for a series that promises to reveal what it’s really been like for the A-list hairdresser opening his new London salon. And as you’d expect, his most famous client features rather a lot. ‘You should do accessories and build yourself up,’ she is apparently seen reprimanding him in one shot at the opening night party of the Salon. When he said, ‘Sorry, Mum,’ she laughs and says: ‘He never listens to me.’ No doubt the two also chat hair, fashion and vintage finds. James often tracks down antique clothing and furniture for Kate – some of which has ended up on the walls of his salon instead! No word on exact dates yet but we’re promised Reality Kate will hit our screens on E4 soon. Stay tuned!

Styling tips of the week! |
|
|
|
|
Volume,
sharp shoulders, lace and leather… We’re spoilt for choice trend wise
at the moment. But after much fashion analysis, we’ve narrowed down our
three favourites. (For this week, at least). Crop tops Yes, we’re with you. We’ve been umming and ahh-ing
here for months now about whether or not la crop is eek or chic. But
now the summer is coming to a close we’ve finally grasped the concept!
There are two options. One, team them with a high-waisted bottom half (Rihanna
does it expertly) which will expose the most flattering part of the
tummy, leaving no room for love handles thank you very much. Or, layer
your crop top with a lace body or long sleeve top to show off the
silhouette a la Sienna Miller. Our top tip? Opt for a trapeze shape to create the illusion of a slimmer waist line.
Lace Always a mega trend for the autumn/winter season, we’ve
picked up on a more subtle way of styling lace up this time – by using
trims to flash your lace. Stella McCartney used a simple slip dress with a lace hem for evening which will also work with your chunky knit for day. Phoebe Carlyle has done some great ones as seen on Net-a-Porter (or M&S do a great one for the budget conscience), and Balenciaga dressed lace up with a flash of a bra, which will work well paired with a racer back or low side vest. Draped jackets In last week’s Grazia we brought you the shape and drape dress, and now we are taking it one step further with jackets and gilets. Inspired by Rick Owens,
these asymmetric cuts are bang on trend and look great flung over
anything from a girlie tee to a rocking pair of jeans. Our faves are
these pewter and khaki tones from Warehouse and All Saints.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s clothing line |
|
|
|
|
Stacked with Stella McCartney dresses and Tod’s shoes, we’ve often been part admiring, part envious of Gwyneth Paltrow’s
wardrobe. So we’re very pleased that our chance to buy into her style
starts today as Gwyneth’s long-awaited collection, in collaboration with
hot French brand Zoe Tee's, hits Matches in store and
online today. But before you roll your eyes at yet another A-list
fashion line, believe us, this one is worth paying attention to. A
collection of chic jersey pieces that suit women of all ages and body
shapes, Gwyneth’s range is perfect to tap into the ‘shape’n’drape’
trend of the season - longer length tops look perfect over narrow
jeans, and asymmetric dresses accentuate waists with flattering cuts.
‘Gwyneth is looking so hot at the moment, so her collaboration with Zoe Tee's couldn’t have come at a better time,’ Matches buying and fashion director Bridget Cosgrave said recently. ‘The collection - which is exclusive to Matches
- epitomises those fail-safe, easy pieces in sporty/luxe fabrics that
you can wear comfortably from day to evening.’ And Bridget’s personal
styling tips? ‘Team with ballet pumps or sneakers during the day and
for night add sky-scraper heels and some statement jewellery to
complete the laid-back, London girl look.’ Just as Gwyneth does herself, then!
