Check it out before it leaves the city. Proslimelt – FAQ’s
What is Proslimelt and what can it be used for? Proslimelt is a safe, fast, pain-free and non-invasive means of permanently removing localised areas of body fat and cellulite.
How does Proslimelt work? Proslimelt primarily works by using ultrasound to disrupt fat cell walls, through a process known as cavitation. The contents (tri-glycerides and glycerol) are made more fluidic (‘melted’) as a result of the ultrasound. The fluid fat is readily expelled through the broken walls of the fat cells. FFA’s combine with albumen and transported in the blood stream to be metabolised by the liver.
What’s involved in a Proslimelt treatment? The clinician uses a hand-held applicator containing the ultrasound generator (transducer) to gently massage the treatment area. The technique is fairly straightforward and all you’ll be fully trained.
How long does treatment with Proslimelt take? A session typically lasts 45-60 minutes for maximum effect. Additional sessions can be scheduled every two weeks. A course of 2-4 treatment sessions in one area will usually suffice. More ‘loss’ usually occurs in the week after treatment. Larger treatment areas will require more sessions.
How long before the effect is visible? With Proslimelt, you see the results as soon as the treatment session is finished. We supply a special tape measure used to measure the client before and after treatment. You and the client can see the difference straight away!
How many inches are lost each session? Typically, between 1 and 3 inches are lost each session. The amount of inch loss depends on various factors, including client age, length of treatment and amount of fat. Most of the reduction is achieved in the second half of the session.
How long does a Proslimelt treatment last? The results are permanent. It may take several treatments to destroy all the fat cells in one area, but fat cells do not re-grow once destroyed. Good diet and proper exercise will enhance the effects of Proslimelt treatment. Drinking plenty of water for the first few days after treatment will help flush out liquid fats from the body.
Does Proslimelt treatment hurt? Treatment is completely pain-free. The client will usually feel a warm, tingling sensation. There are no known side-effects. Proslimelt uses unfocussed, continuous ultrasound. Most other ultrasound systems use high intensity, pulsed ultrasound, which have been shown to cause trauma and pain.
Is Proslimelt a water displacement therapy? Absolutely not! In fact, it’s a good idea for clients to drink plenty of water after treatment, to help flush out the released fat. The Proslimelt ultrasound treatment is not to be confused with fat manipulation treatments, such as endermology. Because fat cells are destroyed with Proslimelt, the fat loss is permanent.
What body areas are suitable for a Proslimelt treatment? Proslimelt can be used to treat most areas of the body that accumulate localised fat deposits: Waistline (front and back) Abdomen (front and back) Trochanter (thigh) Knees Ankles Calves Gluteus (buttocks) Hips Upper arms
For your male clients, Proslimelt can treat beer bellies and man boobs too.
Can Proslimelt be used for cellulite and after lipo-suction? Because Proslimelt breaks down the fat cell walls and ‘melts’ the fat within, the effect achieved is a smooth, surface texture. Proslimelt is very effective for treating cellulite and is often used after liposuction, to even out the ‘lumps and bumps’ that are sometimes evident, post surgery.
Can anyone be treated with Proslimelt? Proslimelt is not a cure for obesity. Proslimelt is intended for the treatment of localised areas of body fat. Clients with certain conditions (contra-indications) should not be treated: Pregnancy Breast feeding Liver dysfunction (hepatitis, cirrhosis) Kidney dysfunction Evolutive disease Any evolutive disease Metallic implants Pacemaker Patients who bruise easily after anti-coagulation therapy
Does Proslimelt need Health Care Commission registration? No. Proslimelt does not need to be registered with the HCC.
What training in Proslimelt treatments is supplied? We will spend at least two days with you during the first month, to make sure the clinician(s) is fully trained in the Proslimelt technique. Further training is available.
